IAH is a scientific and educational organisation whose aims are to promote research into and understanding of the proper management and protection of groundwater for the common good throughout the world. IAH has over 3500 members in 135 countries and welcomes all who support our objectives to join our Association.

International Council of Scientific Unions

Founded in 1931 to promote international scientific activity in the different branches of science and its application for the benefit of humanity, the International Council for Science (ICSU) is one of the oldest non-governmental organizations in the world. ICSU's dual membership, National Scientific Members and International Scientific Unions, allows it to address major, international, interdisciplinary issues that its Members could not handle alone.

International Geoscience Programme (IGCP)

The International Geoscience Programme (IGCP) is a joint endeavour of UNESCO and IGUS (International Union of Geological Sciences) and operates in about 150 countries, involving several thousands of scientists.

International Union of Crystallography

The IUCr is a member of the International Council for Science (ICSU) and exists to serve the world community of crystallographers. This home page supplies information on the Union, its Commissions and Regional Associates, and its journals and other publications. It is a major component of a web of crystallography services being developed under the auspices of the IUCr.

International Year of Planet Earth

An IUGS/UNESCO initiative, the International Year of Planet Earth aims to demonstrate new and exciting ways in which Earth sciences can help future generations meet the challenges involved in ensuring a safer and more prosperous world. The initiative will seek to raise the awareness of the contribution to, and role of the Earth sciences in society in the minds of politicians, decision-makers, the media and the general public.

United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation

UNESCO - the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) was founded on 16 November 1945. For this specialised United Nations agency, it is not enough to build classrooms in devastated countries or to publish scientific breakthroughs. Education, Social and Natural Science, Culture and Communication are the means to a far more ambitious goal : to build peace in the minds of men.

European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers

EAGE is a professional association for geoscientists and engineers. It is a European based organisation with a worldwide membership providing a global network of commercial and academic professionals to all members. European Union of Geosciences

The European Union of Geosciences (EUG), started in 1980. Its aim is to develop co-operation among scientists in different fields of earth and planetary sciences such as geology, geophysics, geochemistry, planetology, oceanography, hydrology etc. Its membership is strictly individual and no one may represent any national organization, institution or laboratory.

Association of European Geological Societies

The prime purpose of the Association is to strenghten the links between Geological Societies in Europe. This is achieved by periodic Meetings of the European Geological Societies (MAEGS), which have taken place throughout Europe since 1975. Membership of the Association is open to all non-government societies, institutions and organisations in Europe active nation-wide in the geological sciences, whether covering the entire subject or specialising in one or more of its branches.

Royal Society, The
